IT Project Manager
Pact is a national charity supporting people in custody, those with criminal convictions in the community, and their families.
With around 400 staff working across 60 prisons in England and Wales, we deliver services that help people maintain relationships and prepare for life beyond prison.
We're looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the procurement and implementation of a new case management system.
This is a critical piece of work — our current system supports 268 practitioners managing around 1,400 cases at any one time, and as we prepare to take on new contracts that could see us working with up to 9,000 people per year, we need a system that's fit for the future.
You'll lead the full lifecycle from finalising the specification and running the tender process through to implementation, training and rollout.
You'll work closely with our Senior Information Officer and be supported by a Project Board of senior leaders from across the organisation.
Day Rate: £750 | Approx. 30 consulting days | May 2026 onwards
What we need from you
- Significant experience project managing the procurement and implementation of critical IT systems in a comparable organisation
- Strong understanding of data protection and handling sensitive data
- Availability throughout the engagement period
- Experience of case management or person-indexed database systems, public sector software (particularly criminal justice), and being UK or EU-based are all desirable.
There's no single right answer to the phasing plan — we're looking for structured thinking, practical experience and an ability to engage meaningfully with a complex brief.
