Overview

Clinks supports voluntary organisations working in the North West of England to reduce reoffending and support people in contact with the criminal justice system. This region includes large urban areas such as Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Lancashire, with diverse communities and a long-standing tradition of voluntary and community sector involvement. Voluntary organisations in the North West provide essential services, including trauma-informed support, resettlement, restorative justice, and family services. They are also key to collaborative efforts with local Police and Crime Commissioners and devolved authorities such as the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, which are helping shape innovative approaches to criminal justice.

Our work

We regularly share criminal justice updates, funding opportunities, policy changes, and event details through newsletters, regional bulletins, and forums. Our aim is to keep organisations informed and better equipped to navigate the changing landscape.
We provide one-to-one support to organisations to help them navigate commissioning, identify funding opportunities, and understand public procurement. We also feedback sector concerns to commissioners to help improve processes.
We gather insight through email call-outs, focus groups, and regional forums, using this intelligence to influence policy discussions with government departments and statutory agencies.
We promote the role of voluntary organisations across regional boards and partnerships, championing the innovative approaches being taken to support people in contact with the criminal justice system.
We convene regional forums and provide opportunities for organisations to connect with one another and with statutory partners. These spaces foster collaboration, information sharing, and peer support.
