CLINKS NEWS: State of the sector survey 2022
Clinks has launched the 2022 State of the sector survey and you have a little over 2 weeks to respond. This is your chance to tell us about the challenges your organisation has faced over the last year and help us influence key decision makers on your behalf and ensure that our support meets your needs. The survey asks about your organisation’s criminal justice work including the clients you support, commissioning and referrals, staffing, and volunteers. Please have numbers ready from the 2021-2022 financial year. The survey takes around 20-25 minutes to complete. Respond before [25 July]. Do not miss your chance to be heard. CLINKS NEWS: Arts Alliance manager vacancy (one year maternity cover)
This is a fabulous opportunity to manage the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance (NCJAA) [£39,772, remote with travel to meetings]. The Arts Alliance represents a network of over 900 individuals and organisations that deliver creative interventions to support people in prison, on probation and in the community, with impressive results. We support this transformative work by providing a network and a voice to promote access to arts and culture for people in the criminal justice system. Applications close [29 July at 9:00]. CLINKS NEWS: last chance to join an advisory group on future regime design
The Reducing Reoffending Third Sector Advisory Group (RR3) will be convening a special interest group on future regime design where a National Regime Model (NRM) will be developed. The NRM will act as a framework, providing infrastructure, parameters and products, to support resettlement and reducing reoffending objectives. The Future Regime Design team believe the voluntary sector can bring significant value to the design and delivery of this work and invite you to get involved. Discussion points will include new tiered regimes and how to link governors/establishments with the sector effectively. The first meeting will be held on 22 July. CLINKS NEW MEMBER: Locked Up Potential CIC
Locked Up Potential delivers personal responsibility programmes within the prison estate. Each programme hosts 20 participants all with less than 18 months to serve and has helped over 24,000 individuals. Find out more about Locked Up Potential CIC here

CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM: probation grants application portal launching
The probation grants application portal is launching on Friday 22 July. Organisations who are interested in grants for probation services should apply via the grants portal. The first grant applications, for people on probation from ethnic minority groups, is anticipated to launch towards the end of August 2022. The Ministry of Justice will be hosting a webinar on [25 July at 13:00] to demonstrate how to access and apply for the grants portal. Register for the event here
CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM: HM Inspectorate of Prisons annual report 2021/22
HM Chief Inspector of Prisons, Charlie Taylor, will be publishing his 2021/22 Annual Report on 13th July and will be speaking to former BBC Home Affairs Correspondent Danny Shaw at an online event to discuss the report and take questions from attendees. You are invited to join this event on [13 July, 12.30 - 13.30] to hear about the report and to ask questions about the work of the Inspectorate over the last 12 months. CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM: Youth Custody Service community engagement
The Youth Custody Service (YCS) is seeking expressions of interest to provide effective interventions to address the needs of boys and girls in custody who are at risk from harmful group affiliations such as county lines and gangs. The YCS will help, guide and support up to four providers to develop their interventions and/or services in preparation for approval by the Youth Custody Assurance Board. The Prisoners' Advice Service annual lecture series returns [20 July, Reed Smith LLP, London, in person or online, free]. Matthew Evans, Director of the AIRE Centre, will deliver the lecture, which will take as its topic: Human Rights. Drinks will be served before and after the event.
