Women's Services Senior Practitioner - Outreach
The Magdalene Group is an award-winning, women and girls organisation, providing trauma- and gender-informed services, with the violence against women and girls (VAWG) agenda at the heart of all that we do.
The Magdalene Group is seeking to employ a Women’s Services Senior Practitioner - Outreach to provide vital support for women experiencing homelessness, with a primary focus on women who are hidden-homeless and who experience rough-sleeping; supporting them to find routes out of homelessness and to access and maintain safe and secure housing.
The post-holder will be part of the Pathways initiative, and based within the Doorway Women's Service, who have an excellent track record of building trusted relationships with women who have experienced sexual violence and domestic violence, abuse and exploitation.
You will be required to provide outreach support for women who experience multiple disadvantages including poor mental health, isolation and substance-use and to work closely with different agencies in response to client need. Collaboration with other agencies to address the unique needs of each woman is a key aspect of this role.
As a senior practitioner you will ensure that high-quality, effective and safe services are in place to provide the best support to women. You will act as a point of contact for team members in relation to clients, providing case management to ensure effective referral pathways are in place; supporting practitioners to advocate clearly in terms of client-need, ensuring that professional boundaries and practices are proportionate to identified risks and need.
Safeguarding will be a top priority and you will be required to undertake training to be a Designated Safeguarding Officer and be responsible for managing safeguarding concerns; overseeing the completion of relevant internal and external safeguarding reporting and assisting with internal safeguarding training and learning sessions.
This role should recognise and address the diverse range of clients’ needs, paying attention to increasing access for those who face barriers to accessing services, including language barriers, racism, disability, sexuality, gender, mental or physical health or substance misuse.
