The Nelson Trust is a leading charity supporting people affected by addiction, trauma and the criminal justice system to achieve recovery and long-term positive change.
We are recruiting compassionate and reliable Bank Support Workers to join our team in Swindon.
This residential service provides a safe, supportive environment for women experiencing domestic abuse and complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health challenges, and offending behaviours.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of residents while offering empathetic, trauma-informed support.
Salary: £13.45 per hour
Hours: Zero hour contract
What will you do
Maintain the safety and security of residents and the building at all times
Carry out regular property checks, including communal areas and resident rooms
Control access to the building and complete routine patrols
Provide practical and emotional support to women with complex needs
Manage incidents, emergencies, and complete accurate reports
Maintain records and deliver clear handovers between shifts
Promote a clean, supportive, and structured environment
Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational procedures

What we are looking for
Experience or understanding of working with vulnerable women and complex needs
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to best practice
Ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging situations
Strong communication skills and confidence in building therapeutic relationships
Good IT and administrative skills with attention to detail
Empathetic, non-judgemental approach with strong professional boundaries
