Safer Communities Lead (Accountability)
The Safer Communities Lead (Accountability) will be part of a team responsible for developing and implementing a transformational work programme to build safer streets and stronger communities across Northumbria.
You will contribute to the delivery of the PCC’s Police and Crime Plan and support the PCC to lobby and influence national policy and legislative development, whilst promoting a problem-solving, prevention and public health approach to building safer and stronger communities.
The role will cover a wide range of community safety themes with a focus on accountability and performance, helping to maximise outcomes for the public and supporting the public trust and confidence agenda.
Key roles of this post
2. Creatively use problem solving techniques as well as qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities to deliver the aims of the Police and Crime Plan and public priorities.
3. Develop networks and strong relationships with partners, including voluntary and statutory partners, collaborating where appropriate in response to local need.
4. Provide support to the PCC at key meetings, events and visits by sharing knowledge, making connections and taking forward actions.
6. Develop strategies, policies and action plans across a range of community safety areas to assist delivery of the PCC’s Police and Crime Plan.
8. Ensure the Public Sector Equality Duty is embedded in all aspects of the role, supporting delivery of the OPCC Equality Objectives.
9. Carry out other duties as compatible with the role, providing resilience where needed.
