Finance, Benefit & Debt is a vital service delivered on behalf of the Ministry of Justice. We support people in prison and on probation through our Relational Mentoring approach.
You’ll play a key role in helping the Wise Group increase its impact in Justice work, ensuring people entering and leaving the justice system receive support needed to manage their finance, benefit and debt needs.
This is essential to rehabilitation and reintegration into the community and builds on our other existing contracts.
Location Flexible working - principally based in North East both community and prison based with some home working. Driving is required throughout the North East of England
Salary £25,664 + excellent benefits
Hours 35 hours per week (flexible working)
Status Fixed Term to 26 February 2027

Over half of people in custody or on probation face financial challenges.
Our work is pivotal in improving outcomes for vulnerable individuals and complements the 17 Ministry of Justice contracts we deliver across England and Wales.
Due to location it is essential for this role that the successful candidate has a full UK drivers license and access to a vehicle.
The post is also subject to the successful candidate passing enhanced level 1 prison vetting.
Experience of working in a mentoring role and in a custodial setting is advantageous.
Home broadband connection is also required to allow home working to be undertaken.
