Women’s Liaison and Diversion Keyworker (Salisbury)
Are you passionate about supporting women in a holistic, women centered, trauma-informed way, to achieve lasting change?
If you have experience in engaging and building trusting relationships with women – we would love to hear from you.
The Nelson Trust’s award winning Women’s Centres provide holistic, gender-specialist support to women facing multiple disadvantages, including women involved (or at risk of being involved) in the criminal justice system.
Our Women’s Centres are located in Gloucestershire, Swindon, Bristol, Somerset, Cardiff, Swansea and HMP Eastwood Park. Our centres offer safe, women-only spaces where women can get support to address a wide range of needs.
The Nelson Trust is working in partnership with AWP (Avon and Wiltshire Partnership) to develop a women specific diversionary pathway for women who have come into contact with the Criminal Justice System (CJS).
This post will work alongside NHS Criminal Justice Mental Health Practitioners to divert women away from the CJS at the earliest opportunity into The Nelson Trust Women’s Centre to access appropriate support, advice, one-to-one and group interventions, and access to specialist services. This Scheme will divert women away from criminality and provide them with a new and ‘restorative’ approach to their rehabilitation and recovery.
As the allocated keyworker you will motivate women to address their health needs; coordinating an effective multiagency approach to safeguard, manage risk and offer support to reduce social harms including homelessness, substance misuse, mental and physical illness, extreme poverty, and violence and abuse.
Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
The Nelson Trust is committed to safeguarding, the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced Children & Adults DBS check
