Feltham Community Chaplaincy Trust (FCCT) supports young people aged 15–25 as they move from custody back into the community, providing the consistent, relational support that so many lack. We work alongside young people at HMP/YOI Feltham and continue that support through the gate and into the community for up to 12 months, ensuring no one has to navigate release alone.
Our model is built on long-term, trusted relationships. Each young person is matched with a trained volunteer mentor who walks with them through the challenges of resettlement—housing, education and training, employment, mental health, family reconnection, and day to day problem solving. Mentors are supported and supervised by our full time resettlement workers, ensuring safe, structured, and high quality practice.
We specialise in working with young people who have experienced trauma, exclusion, and instability. Many have limited support networks and face multiple barriers on release. Our approach is patient, person centred, and strengths based: we focus on building confidence, stability, and hope through consistent presence and practical help.
Our services include:
• In custody engagement – meeting young people on the wings, building trust, and preparing for release.
• Through the gate support – meeting young people on the day of release and ensuring immediate needs are met.
• Community mentoring – weekly relational support focused on goals such as ETE, housing, wellbeing, and positive identity.
• Resettlement casework – structured support from our staff team, including advocacy, referrals, and multi agency coordination.
• Volunteer training and supervision – equipping local people to become safe, confident, and effective mentors.
We are the only community chaplaincy in the country dedicated specifically to 15–25 year olds, and our work is rooted in the belief that long term, trusted relationships are key to reducing reoffending and enabling young people to build meaningful, stable futures.
