Join ClinksDorset Advocacy helps people who face disadvantage to speak up, promote their rights, and play a full part in the life of their community. We achieve this by creating and supporting 1-1 advocacy partnerships in which the advocate may be a volunteer or paid member of staff, but is always trained and working to common standards. We provide the Appropriate Adult service for Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole.

Supporting information
Dorset Advocacy is a creative local organisation, committed to excellence in all it does. We seek to develop partnerships with agencies that share our values of Vision, Openness, Independence, Choice and Excellence. Since our inception in 1993, developing advocacy partnerships with people who have learning disabilities, the range of our work has increased dramatically. Our projects now include: Help with NHS Complaints, supporting anyone wishing to complain about the NHS in Dorset, Bournemouth or Poole; the Appropriate Adult service, helping vulnerable adults in police custody; the Memory Network, creating life stories with people who have dementia, and Dorset Macmillan Advocacy, helping older people affected by cancer, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. We also have advocacy schemes for specific client groups.
