Supporting information
Cleanstart set up in 2008 to employ prolific and other priority offenders. Ex-offenders are selected in conjunction with the Police Offender Management Unit & Probation Service.
Ex-offenders employed by Cleanstart receive a living wage and comprehensive, tailored rehabilitation support from our team - including practical, vocational & work preparation sessions, a bespoke learning & development programme and support managing the transition back into society. At the end of each operative’s 6-9 month placement, we support them to move into appropriate permanent employment with our network of partners. The re-offend rate for Cleanstart is 10.5% and Greater Manchester Police have calculated that it has saved the taxpayer £10 million in the last 5 years.
Cleanstart, and it's sister social enterprise Rainbow, also provide work placements and volunteering opportunities for women on ROTL from Styal Prison.
Cleanstart work under the umbrella of Trafford Housing Trust.
