A team of specialist resettlement workers support the men pre- and post- release. Supporting information
WYCCP is a resettlement organisation, a registered charity, which uses paid staff and volunteers to support ex-prisoners to resettle in the community across West Yorkshire.
WYCCP works through the gate at HMP Leeds and Wealstun, ideally seeing men three months before release, meeting them at the gate and supporting them in the community to achieve outcomes in their individually-negotiated action plans.
We offer person-centred, bespoke, non-time-limited support over all the NOMS resettlement pathways and work closely with any agencies involved with the service user, notably probation, mental health services and housing providers. We have very good knowledge of relevant agencies and accompany men to appointments, help them to access appropriate benefits and accommodation and support them to attend courses, volunteering opportunities and find employment.
We regularly check the reconviction to prision rate using our in-house database.
