Supporting information
Bringing Hope has a strong track record of working with high risk and prolific offenders. The majority of our clients are of African and Caribbean origin who have served or who are serving custodial sentences for violent and prolific crimes.
We work holistically, addressing the thinking, attitudes and behaviour of those we engage with the outcome of reducing re-offending rates, supporting long-term desistance and breaking any family cycles of crime.
To achieve this we provide pastoral care, therapy and support to families and in the community to strengthen positive networks to aid resettlement. We deliver a 12-week course at HMP Birmingham and we have a peer led volunteer network to provide specific support to the female relatives of both current and reformed offenders. We are setting up a community chaplaincy network, a programme which gives long-term practical and emotional assistance to offenders from the moment they leave the prison gates to sustain their changed lives.
