Share your Input on the Independent Statutory Regulation of Probation Practitioners

Have you or your organisation had experience working with probation practitioners? Would you like to share your views on how you believe the profession should be regulated?

The Ministry of Justice has launched a new consultation seeking views on introducing independent statutory regulation for probation practitioners to strengthen professional standards, public confidence and accountability across the probation workforce.

Keen to have your voice heard?

Clinks will be holding an evidence-gathering roundtable on Wednesday 16 September (10:00am-11:30am). We will seek your input on:

• The minimum requirements, frequency and mechanism for maintaining registration,
• Ensuring ongoing professional competence and development,
• Setting of professional standards and code of ethics to promote a strong common professional identity,
• Fitness to practice processes and referrals, and
• The potential to confer a protected title.
