Independent Review of the Prison System - Call for Evidence

The Independent Review of the Prison System has now launched their call for evidence which seeks respondents’ views on the biggest risks facing the prison system, and the main opportunities to address these risks and improve outcomes. It will focus on what needs to be done over the next 5 to 15 years in order to secure the long-term sustainability and resilience of the prison system.

The review particularly welcomes responses from organisations and individuals with a particular interest or expertise in the prison system.

The call for evidence is published, here, and will be accepting responses until 11:59PM on Monday 31 August. Respondents will be able to submit their response through the online portal.

Clinks will be coordinating opportunities for collective engagement and will be preparing a shared submission to help amplify the voice of the voluntary sector. More details will be shared in due course. We would also encourage our members to submit their own evidence, drawing on frontline experience, service user insight, and data to highlight both challenges and effective practice across the system
