Unlock Drama is expanding its freelance pool of facilitators and is seeking experienced practitioners to deliver theatre-based rehabilitation projects across the criminal justice system.
This is not an entry-level opportunity.
They are specifically seeking individuals with:
- Proven experience in Applied Theatre
- Experience working within the criminal justice system (prisons, probation, or related settings)
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage hard-to-reach participants
- A trauma-informed, participant-centred approach
- Prison vetting (or willingness to undergo vetting)
- Experience delivering issue-based work (e.g. mental health, substance misuse, neurodiversity, violence reduction)
- rehabilitation
- wellbeing
- skill development
- reducing reoffending
They work with some of the most challenging and hard-to-reach groups and are looking for facilitators who can confidently hold space, adapt to complex environments, and deliver high-quality, impactful sessions.
Commitment requirement:
Projects are delivered in intensive, residential formats. Facilitators must be available to commit to full project weeks (typically Monday–Friday). Due to the nature of the work, they are unable to accommodate partial availability, and applicants must be able to commit to full delivery weeks when booked, subject to their availability.
