Express your interest in joining the RR3 SIG on Community Provision
Help us build the evidence base, highlight best practice, and develop solutions to enhancing community provision for people in touch with the criminal justice system
Calling voluntary sector organisations!
We are calling on any voluntary organisation, either providing drug and alcohol support or mental health support to people involved in the criminal justice system, to join the RR3 Community Provision Special Interest Group.
For any questions, or to express your interest in participating, please contact our RR3 Secretariat, Bronte Jack. The deadline for submitting an expression of interest is Wednesday 17 July 2024.
The first session will focus on drug and alcohol treatment and will take place online Monday 22 July 2024 (10:00am – 12:00pm).
The remaining sessions will explore mental health provision, and commissioning.
About the RR3 Community Provision SIG
The Reducing Reoffending Third Sector Advisory Group (RR3) is made up of senior experts from the voluntary sector and meets quarterly with civil servants to provide guidance and feedback on prison and probation policy developments.
The RR3 can also convene time-limited Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to explore certain topics in more depth, and to subsequently provide a range of practical policy recommendations.
The Community Provision SIG has been established to explore the resourcing and modelling of community provision for people in contact with the criminal justice system, within the context of an increase in demand for community services. We are looking for voluntary sector organisations working in this space to join the group.
The initial areas of focus will be (but not limited to):
-
Mapping the landscape of existing commissioning services
-
Understanding current treatment capacity- incorporating both substance misuse, physical, and mental health support services
-
Exploring the use and availability of community sentences, including the usage and uptake of Community Service Treatment Requirements (CSTRs)
-
Out of Court Disposals (OOCDs)
-
Modelling the community provision ‘offer’ – highlighting and establishing best practice.
Expression of interest in the SIG is open to all, and we welcome broad engagement from those working in the sector. Once we have ascertained interest, we will be able to share additional information explaining the work of this SIG in greater detail.
