NCJAA Writing development workshop: writing case studies
10:00, 14 December | online | free
This year the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance (NCJAA) will be working in partnership with the Royal Literary Fund to deliver free writing development training for individuals and organisations delivering arts-based services and projects in the criminal justice system.
A case study tells the story of a person, group or event. It is a structured approach to exploring ideas, explaining situations, demonstrating learning, reporting progress or celebrating your organisation’s success and the benefits for individuals, communities and other stakeholders. Case studies can also be useful for marketing and research.
This online training programme will help you to consider the following:
- Issues of structure
- Key elements of a case study (introduction, context, needs, description of intervention(s), outcomes and benefits)
- Tone and style for different audiences (funders, other stakeholders and organisations, individuals, families and broader community)
- Self-editing and proofreading.
Combined London criminal justice and Race & Justice Network forum
13:00, 14 December | online | free
We have decided to combine our London criminal justice forum and our Race & Justice network forum for December. Both London members and members of the Race & Justice network will be very welcome at the combined event.
Our London criminal justice forums aim to bring together partners working across the criminal justice system. They are held three times per year, providing an opportunity for people working in the criminal justice system in London to discuss policy and practice affecting their day-to-day work.
The forums also provide the space to network with other organisations, discuss opportunities for joint working and offer each other peer support. They are also an opportunity for Clinks’ members and partners to showcase their work.
This will be followed by our quarterly Race and Justice network forum that provides organisations in the network with support, information and networking opportunities. They also provide updates on policy, member activity and host speakers on relevant topics. The forums provide an opportunity to gather feedback and key issues raised by organisations working with those racially minoritised within the criminal justice system, enabling Clinks to reflect these to national government at Reducing Reoffending Third Sector Advisory Group (RR3) meetings.
We will also be providing an opportunity to reflect and feedback on Clinks' annual conference and its theme: Making race & justice everyone’s business, giving members the opportunity to have their say on how the conference went and what the next steps are for Clinks. Book your place here
Women’s Network forum
10:00, 19 December | online | free
Our quarterly women’s networking forums, hosted in partnership with Agenda, provide support, information-sharing and networking opportunities to those working with women in contact with the criminal justice system. They also provide updates on policy, member activity and host speakers on relevant topics. The forums provide an opportunity to gather feedback and key issues raised by organisations working with women in contact with the criminal justice system, enabling Clinks to reflect these to national government at Reducing Reoffending Third Sector Advisory Group (RR3) meetings.
We usually have a specific theme with presentations from invited expert guests. For this meeting we would like to offer a more informal space for sharing successes and networking. In what has been a challenging year, with ever-increasing need for specialist women’s services and high demands placed on staff and volunteers, we invite network members to come together and provide short updates highlighting any successes they would like to share. Clinks and Agenda will share brief policy, research and campaign highlights but the focus will be on what our members and the women they work with have achieved. This will be a shorter forum than usual, but we hope lots of members will come along to celebrate success as the year draws to a close. Book your place here
