CLINKS NEWS: Clinks Impact Stakeholder Survey 2023
We would be grateful if you could participate in a short survey about our impact. It has been designed and managed by independent consultants, will be anonymous and should take no more than 10 minutes of your time. The deadline is 1 October. The results will form an important part of our next phase and will help us to improve our services. We are committed to involving our beneficiaries and partners in understanding our impact and the best way forward.
As we emerge from a turbulent last few years, we are in the process of developing our new three-year strategy. This will define what we do, how we do it, and who we do it for in the coming years. As part of this process we are currently undergoing an independent impact assessment. Your experiences as partners or supporters are vital as we reflect on what we do well, what we need to improve and how we can make a bigger impact. Complete the survey by 1 October here
CLINKS NEWS: London Criminal Justice Forum
All voluntary organisations working in the London criminal justice system are welcome to attend Clinks' next online criminal justice forum [28 September, 13:00-14:30, online, free]. Our special guest will be Ian Bickers, Prison Group Director for London Prisons and is responsible for the delivery of custodial services and rehabilitation of individuals in the care of prisons in London. Ian will share his thoughts on prisons and the voluntary sector and answer questions after a twenty-year career.
Updates for the voluntary sector will also be shared by stakeholders such as the Met Police, who will be discussing the new Right Care Right Person (RCRP) operational model that changes the way emergency services respond to calls involving concerns about mental health, London Probation and the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC). Book your free place and receive the login details by registering here.
CLINKS NEWS: Voluntary Sector Coordinator at HMP Isis
Clinks are delighted to announce that following successful funding from City Bridge Trust, Michelle Lendrum is in post as the Voluntary Sector Coordinator at HMP Isis. This is an exciting opportunity to further the work of the Good Prison Project led by Clinks in 2016-17 across three prisons in England. Michelle brings a wealth of previous experience of working in prisons for the voluntary sector with some of Clinks' members, and has already started working to bridge the gap between the voluntary sector and the prison service. This project aims to support better connectivity among and between voluntary organisations working with people in HMP Isis and those in the community providing support on release. If you are interested in finding out more about this project, please do get in touch with Michelle via email at michelle.lendrum@clinks.org
MEMBER FOCUS: Collective Voice
Collective Voice is the national charity working to improve England’s drug and alcohol treatment and recovery system. Collective Voice believe that anyone in England with a substance use problem should be able to access evidence-based and person-centred support to keep them safe and enable them to make the change they want to see in their lives. Learn more about Collective Voice here
CLINKS MEMBER’S NEWS: Social Enterprise UK 2023 Awards
Arkbound Foundation has been nominated in the Social Enterprise Building Diversity, Inclusion, Equity & Justice category for the Social Enterprise UK 2023 Awards

CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM: Drug use in ethnic minority groups
The Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) is running a call for evidence entitled “Drug use in ethnic minority groups”. The ACMD is aiming to produce a report to consider evidence about the prevalence of substance use among racially minoritised people, and the challenges facing the reporting and engagement in and access to treatment services. Questions in the call for evidence ask about areas including treatment services accessed by racially minoritised people, the current levels of engagement with those services, the barriers to accessing treatment, and how engagement with racially minoritised clients could be improved by service providers [deadline for responses is 22 September]. Find out more
