Dear colleague,
We have launched the 2023 State of the sector survey. This is your chance to tell us about the challenges your organisation has faced over the last year and to help us influence key decision makers on your behalf and ensure that our support meets your needs.
Make your voice heard
Your responses help us to strengthen the voice of specialist organisations providing services designed specifically for racially minoritsed people in the criminal justice system. We understand that racially minoritised people encounter unique barriers and these are often unrecognised within the criminal justice system and voluntary sector.
The data that we get from our State of the sector survey provides us with extensive and highly-respected evidence which is presented to a wide range of stakeholders. The data that you give us also allows us to showcase the amazing work that you do and highlight the services that you provide to support those that are in the criminal justice system.
Your information helps us make the case to key decision makers, commissioners and funders that more investment is needed in services that support racially minoritised people in the criminal justice system. With funding remaining a key issue, responses to the survey help us to highlight why investment into this area is critical. Your response will help to structure work with key partners across the sector and help us to advocate for the smaller specialist organisations that we support within the race and justice network.
Overall, the number of responses was down on the previous year, and we reflected on what this meant for our findings, and the reasons behind it. A significant proportion of those who responded were from medium and large organisations, and we heard from fewer smaller organisations than in the past. So, if you represent a small organisation, we particularly want to hear from you!
