Ministry of justice launch grant funding competitions for women's services
On 01 September 2022 the Ministry of Justice announced that £24 million will be available over the next three years to support women in or at risk of contact of the criminal justice system. Three grant funding competitions have now been launched. Women’s voluntary sector organisations can apply to two of these. The first is to cover ‘core costs’ (from £60,000 to £150,00 per year) over three financial years, and the second is for funding to extend their services or offer new ones. The aim will be to fill gaps not currently met through the existing commissioned rehabilitative services. If you plan to apply and are not yet registered on the grants portal, find out more on the Clinks website. The third competition is open to statutory organisations with the aim of improving outcomes for women through implementing a Whole System Approach. Women’s voluntary organisations should engage with their local partners, including; Police and Crime Commissioners, local authorities, police forces and local criminal justice boards, to encourage them to bid for seed funding to improve the integration of women’s services in local areas to address women’s complex needs. To apply for any of these grants you must login to the Ministry of Justice sourcing portal.
The ITT numbers for each competition are:
- Core costs - ITT_6494
- Funding for new or extended services - ITT_6495
- Partnership work at local level - ITT_6488
Olivia Dehnavi, Clinks Senior Policy Officer, has written a blog outlining the grants competitions and how women's voluntary sector organisations can apply.
