Leaders share campaigning tactics for change in the criminal justice system
Learn how to apply them in your organisation
Join one, two or all three of our upcoming events where voluntary sector leaders share how they have influenced policy or campaigned on issues impacting the people they support, and soak up tangible tips and ideas for how you can too.
-
Using front-line expertise to influence policy: Helen Berresford, Nacro, and Sam Boyd, Switchback, will tell us how they turn their front-line expertise into impactful policy influencing and campaigns [free, online, 22nd February]
-
Campaigning in the face of hostility: Marchu Girma, Hibiscus and Greg Sproston, The Traveller Movement, will share ways to maintain a sense of energy and optimism in the face of social and political hostility and reflect on their experiences of advocating for marginalised people [free, online, 1st March]
-
Advocating for women in the criminal justice system: Kirsty Kitchen, Head of Policy and Communications at Birth Companions, and Kate Fraser, Project Coordinator at Greater Manchester Women’s Support Alliance will give examples of strategies to achieve genuine and long-lasting changes to services, and discuss their roles in campaigning for women in the criminal justice system [free, online, 15th March]
-
And if you missed last year's seminar 'Introduction to reframing', part of the same Stronger Voice project, there is still time to sign up to tomorrow's re-run of the popular event [free, online, 8th February].
These events are suitable for anyone working in a policy, campaigns or communications role in a voluntary organisation working in the criminal justice system at any level, or anyone who is interested in their organisation using their voice in new ways.
The Stronger voice project is funded by the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales. The project aims to help the voluntary sector working in criminal justice to develop a unified and influential voice, at both a national and regional level.
