Specialist organisations supporting black, Asian and minority ethnic people
Clinks' Directory of Services can help people with convictions, their families and those working with them locate vital services that support people in contact with the criminal justice system across England and Wales.
The Directory lists hundreds of voluntary organisations led by and focussed on supporting black, Asian and minority ethnic people. If you're looking for support, or are wanting to signpost to it, the directory is an invaluable resource to locate services. Use filters to help you in your search, such as type of organisation, region, and prison to find the service you need. Visit the directory here, or use the search function on our ‘black, Asian and minority ethnic people’ page here.
"Many of our black, Asian and minority ethnic clients resettle to a different part of the country after their release from prison - now we'll be able to use the Directory to find them appropriate services where they live." - Phanuel Mutumburi, Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality
Does your organisation provide specialist support?
If you provide specialist services tailored for people from black, Asian or minority ethnic communities in prison or the community, make sure your organisation is listed - fill out a quick form to tell us about the nature of your support and the communities you work with. Help ensure individuals can find and access culturally-appropriate services for their needs.
Race and justice network
Race and Justice Co-ordinator Janice Frazer is currently setting up the Clinks race and justice network for black, Asian and minority ethnic specialist organisations working in the criminal justice system. Join the network to:
- Get sector-specific information
- Networking opportunities
- Showcase good practice and learn from others
- Receive training and development opportunities.
You'll also contribute to our policy influencing activity, get opportunities to connect with commissioners, funders and operational leads across prison, probation and Police and Crime Commissioners.
