Reflecting on the power of lived experience leadership

This webinar will focus on the question of lived experience leadership and why it is needed in the voluntary sector working in the criminal justice system. As two experienced leaders of lived experience, our presenters will reflect on what the voluntary sector gains from lived experience leadership, why we need more of it and what it means if we do not invest in building a pipeline for leadership from the communities we serve.
The session will be delivered by Michaela Booth, National Patient Engagement Lead, Care UK and Paula Harriott, Head of Prisoner Involvement at the Prison Reform Trust – both leaders of lived experience with extensive expertise in the subject.

Service user involvement and co-production in the context of Covid-19

This webinar will explore and outline how the disruption created by the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted on service user involvement and co-production, with a specific focus on user engagement in the criminal justice system. It will explore how we can creatively use digital and technological innovation in service delivery and how to overcome challenges we have faced thus far.

Improving engagement of black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and increasing diversity

This webinar seeks to explore the tools for meaningful and proactive engagement with black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) groups. It will explore how to address fears and motives for engagement and look at understanding the dynamics of BAME communities in relation to their lived experiences and position in society. The session is aimed at organisations working with women in the criminal justice system, that genuinely wish to develop sustainable engagement with BAME groups with a view to bringing about change within their organisations and around them.
The webinar is delivered by Sofia Buncy, National Coordinator, Prisoner Rehab and Community Development at Khidmat Centres, who has extensive expertise in the subject.
