François Matarasso: A space to think
6.30pm, 15th October | London | £10
We're delighted to invite you to join us at our 2019 Anne Peaker lecture with keynote speaker François Matarasso, community arts worker, writer and researcher.
Our annual lecture honours Anne Peaker's pioneering work and legacy, which forms the basis of the work of the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance today. François will consider the historical context of participatory arts in criminal justice settings and Anne Peaker’s contribution to this. His keynote will go on to explore art's capacity for reflection and make the case for its importance in terms of human rights and power.
The event will include a performance of an arts in criminal justice project, a Q&A and networking drinks. Full programme details to follow.
