In what ways does art prevent violence in society? In what ways does it contribute to it? Does art in the criminal justice system contribute to creating a less violent society, or can it do it harm? We are happy to announce that Synergy Theatre Project will open the evening with an exclusive performance of their new play Blackout, which will be followed by a panel debate of leading arts and criminal justice voices:
- Rebecca Friel, Director, Odd Arts
- Chairman Kato, Artist and Activist
- Keith Palmer, Director, The Comedy School
- Craig Pinkey, Urban Youth Specialist and Lecturer, University College Birmingham
- Michael Smith, Performer, Synergy Theatre Project
The event will be chaired by Alison Frater and runs from 6pm - 8pm, with networking drinks until 9pm. Spaces are extremely limited so please book in advance.
