National Alliance for Arts in Criminal Justice
ANNUAL MEETING 2016
3rd March 2016, 2 - 6pm
Central London
We are delighted to announce that Ed Vaizey, the Minister of State for Culture and the Digital Economy, will be giving the keynote speech at our Annual Meeting this year, outlining his vision for a new cultural strategy. There will also be a short play and workshop from Clean Break Theatre Company and a prison Governor's perspective on arts in criminal justice settings.
Our Annual Meeting is an opportunity for our members to come together, learn about the current policy landscape and share good practice in arts and criminal justice. We will also use the event to look back on our achievements as a network and elect a new Steering Group who will work collaboratively to support the work of the Alliance and establish new priorities for the coming year.
Places are limited, so to avoid disappointment, book as soon as possible by emailing events@clinks.org.
Bringing people together: diversity, arts and criminal justice
21st March 2016, 10am - 4pm
London
Arts organisations working in criminal justice settings are leading the field in creating diverse, innovative art that pushes boundaries, explores complex issues and brings people together from different cultures and backgrounds. We know that many minority groups are overrepresented in the Criminal Justice System and underrepresented in the arts. So how can we seek to improve this balance and use arts as a driver for equality? This event, Chaired by Baroness Young of Hornsey, will gather views, evidence and good practice on using the arts as a driver for equality, which we can then share with our network and the government.
