Conference theme
Racially minoritised people are overrepresented at every single point of contact with the criminal justice system (CJS). This is a well-known fact within our sector, and we are aware of extensive data, research and stories of lived experience which evidence racism within the CJS. It is also acknowledged that despite numerous efforts being made to begin to tackle this fundamental flaw within the system, whether that be through reviews, reports, campaigns, adaptions to policy or many other initiatives which have been launched, the progress made to date is not good enough.
Clinks thinks that all organisations working in criminal justice, whether they be statutory or voluntary, must acknowledge and take action to tackle systemic, structural and individual racism and ensure that their services are accessible to, and meet the needs of, racially minoritised people. We know that awareness exists, however the understanding of, and commitment to, actively taking steps forward within this work is limited.
This year we would like to take the opportunity at our annual conference to provide a platform for our specialist members who are led by/for racially minoritised people to share their expertise on how to best support people from racially minoritised communities, and how we can unite and commit to a future where justice is equitable. Race and justice is everybody’s business, and we would like for the wider criminal justice sector to come together and embrace the opportunity to learn, be challenged and most importantly commit to prioritise taking action to tackle racial inequity and injustices moving forward.
Our programme will be led by our specialist members. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sessions which will aim to inspire and influence change on an individual, organisational and wider strategic level. Further details of the speakers and facilitators will be announced closer to the time.
You can also follow updates in Light Lunch, and on Twitter and LinkedIn.

Privacy and security
Events conducted online will take place using various online platforms, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, to enable remote participation. Security and privacy are paramount. We have integrated the latest security features according to recommended platform guidelines. These measures include password protection and waiting rooms to control access. Attendees must adhere to established housekeeping rules. Disruptive or unwanted behaviour will result in immediate removal from the online event.
COVID-19 (Applicable to in-person events)
The symptoms of COVID-19 and other respiratory infections are very similar. It is not possible to tell if you have COVID-19, flue or another respiratory infection based on symptoms alone. Most people with COVID-19 and other respiratory infections will have a relatively mild illness, especially if they have been vaccinated. If you have symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as COVID-19, and you have a high temperature or you do not feel well enough to attend, refrain from attending an in-person event. Please email us at events@clinks.org to nominate a substitute delegate from your organisation or inform us of non-attendance.
Data protection
Clinks is committed to safeguarding your personal data. Refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information on data usage for event administration.
Code of conduct
Clinks is a values driven organisation and expect our members to agree to and uphold those values at all Clinks events. Our membership code of conduct outlines our expectations regarding the behaviour of our members and their staff towards Clinks and other member organisations. If behaviour or disruption during an event is considered to be a breach of the Clinks code of conduct, these concerns will be addressed by the sector support, members and networks manager and this may result in removal from future Clinks events or membership overall.

These terms and conditions are subject to change based on even circumstances and guidance from relevant authorities. Updates will be communicated to registered attendees through official communication channels. By participating in our events, you acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions.
