Background
The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) regularly convenes meetings of the London Reducing Reoffending Board for the criminal justice sector to work collectively to prevent reoffending in the capital.
The next meeting of the London Reducing Reoffending Board will focus on reducing and preventing violent offences. MOPAC are therefore keen to hear the views of voluntary organisations working in this area to shape the board’s focus and improve outcomes.
This event
This online event is an opportunity for voluntary organisations to share experiences of working with violent offenders with decision makers at MOPAC and impact service design with stakeholders on the London Reducing Reoffending Board.
Facilitated by Matt Uberoi of Clinks (London Development Officer) and Tom Dodsworth of MOPAC (Policy & Commissioning Manager), four key questions will be discussed:
- What themes are voluntary organisations regularly seeing when working with violent offenders in London?
- Are there are gaps in provision that voluntary organisations are noticing when working with violent offenders in London?
- Do voluntary organisations feel there is anything that statutory partners should be doing to improve outcomes with violent offenders in London, that they are not currently doing? Statutory partners include MOPAC, Metropolitan Police, London Councils and HMPPS.
- What types of voluntary sector organisations and services are most effective when working with violent offenders?
The online event is open to all voluntary organisations working in the Criminal Justice System in London. After booking, you will receive a confirmation email containing all the information required to attend the event on Microsoft Teams. If you have any questions, please email events@clinks.org.
