Do you feel you have mastered the basics of using well framed language to discuss your work? Do you feel ready to practice the more advanced skill of metaphors to help people understand you better?
This interactive Stronger Voice training session is designed to do just that. It is a session for those who are already confident at talking about their work, why it matters and know the hurdles to dodge.
Attendees will gain:

Refresher insights into what the public belief in the field of crime and justice

Practice using metaphors starting with three tried and tested options to try out, then adapting to your needs in groups

Confidence using metaphors, and in turn having more success connecting with your audiences.
About the trainer
The training will be delivered by Liz Kearsley, a communications specialist who works with organisations to improve language, messaging and brand. Liz has been training organisations in the crime and justice sector since 2018 and previously held the position of head of communications at several different charities.
This training session will be held in person in London, and Clinks is happy to reimburse travel expenses.
Who can attend?
These events are open to anybody working for a voluntary organisation in the criminal justice system. Please only book one ticket per organisation as we expect there to be high demand for these events.
It is aimed at a mixed level group and it will be most useful for anyone working in a policy, campaigns or communications role, or anyone else interested in telling people’s stories to influence policy or to campaign on issues that matter to their organisation or service users.
About Stronger voice
The Stronger Voice programme is funded by the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales, and aims to help the voluntary sector working in criminal justice to develop a unified and influential voice, at both a national and regional level. Through this programme, Clinks is bringing together experts across policy, campaigns and communications for a range of free events, training and coaching opportunities to support organisations of all sizes to feel more confident in influencing policy and campaigning for change.

Privacy and security
This event will be conducted through Zoom, an online meeting platform. Security and privacy is important to us, so we have the following procedures in place.

We implement the latest security functions as standard, including requiring registration, passwords and waiting rooms.

To book a place, all attendees need to login and book through the Clinks website, so everyone identifies themselves.

We ask all attendees to follow our housekeeping rules. Any unwanted behaviour will result in delegates being removed from meetings.
