The Libertie Project works with offenders, ex-offenders and those at risk of offending in the Highlands of Scotland. We use creativity as a therapeutic medium to engage with hard to reach individuals, develop positive working relationships, improve mental health and well being, develop pre-employability skills, transition to employment and reduce offending behaviour.
We work in partnership both inside prison, in the community with criminal justice social work and in outreach locations. All our workshops are tailor made interventions using principles of forensic occupational therapy to develop the foundation blocks that are needed to succeed and improve life chances.
We have specific ares of expertise in substance misuse, repeat offenders with chaotic lifestyles, homelessness and working with women offenders to develop alternatives to custodial sentences.
We sell artisan products made by offenders via prison or community based work programmes following specific training.
