Help ensure everyone receives the health and social care they deserve
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is asking for feedback on local health and care services from voluntary sector organisations working in the Criminal Justice System.
Good healthcare can make a world of difference to people in contact with the Criminal Justice System. Here's one example of feedback that the CQC have heard recently:
"The GP at the medical practice was brilliant... [When] our client was released from prison to live in a different area, the GP linked her into the pharmacies, the mental health, and social services team - acting like a hub for the co-ordination of care for her. She enabled the young woman to live independently and start to build a life for herself with support in the community."
Sadly, we know that not everyone receives such fantastic care. By sharing your feedback on local health and care services with the CQC, you can help them hold services to account and collect evidence of good and bad practice to encourage others to improve.
