What do prisoners and ex-offenders need to learn?
Clinks is a member of a Fellowship convened by The Monument Trust to take forward their legacy of funding work in the criminal justice space. The Trust has published a report in which the conclusion of the Monument Trust is discussed and the eight organisations of the Fellowship have set out their aims to continue the Trust's legacy. You can read the report here
This year the Fellowship has set a question and asked for submissions of between 800-2000 words. The question is ‘What do prisoners and ex-offenders need to learn?’. The Fellowship is not only looking for contributions from academics, researchers and policy experts - everyone is welcome to contribute. Clinks wants to encourage people with practical and personal experience of the justice system to respond. We would like to hear about individual case studies, projects and initiatives, however unusual - the more special the experiences, the more interesting they will be for others to read about. In particular we would like to hear the voices of people who have first-hand experience of the criminal justice system.
Clinks' Head of Policy and Communications, Nathan Dick, has written a short blog discussing what this question could mean, the future of the Fellowship and how you can contribute. You can read the blog here
You can send us ideas at any time. We would ideally like your submissions by the end of May 2017. All contributions will be published online and a selection will be brought together into a publication. The publication will be launched to coincide with the Koestler Trust's annual exhibition in autumn 2017.
