NATIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE ARTS ALLIANCE EVENT: introduction to arts in prisons

CLINKS MEMBER’S NEWS: newsletter, website and video
Circles South West, which works with people who have committed sexual offenses, has launched a video about their Young People’s Project, featuring insightful and heartfelt contributions from young people, volunteers and professionals. Circles South West’s latest newsletter includes an article by a service user on his experience of leaving prison and receiving through the gate support from a Circle (a group of volunteers). He describes a Circle as “not too sympathetic, as family can sometimes be. Not completely risk-averse, as probation can sometimes appear to be. Simply a bunch of normal people who are genuinely supportive, providing me a safe place to seek advice and guidance”. Read the newsletter and watch the video on Circles South West’s new website.
