CLINKS MEMBER’S NEWS: restorative justice service
‘Make Amends’ is a restorative justice service for Devon and Cornwall, managed by Shekinah. Accepting both people with convictions and victim initiated referrals, the service exists to help all parties move forward from crime. Make Amends encourages statutory, community and voluntary agencies to listen out for specific phrases from their clients which indicate that restorative justice might be useful. It aims to deliver safe and voluntary restorative justice to bring victims and people with convictions into communication with each other in order for those affected by crime to explain the impact that the crime has had on them to the person responsible.
