Prison reform and the voluntary sector
Clinks is responding to the recent prison reform announcements through a series of briefings and projects to ensure that the voluntary sector remains a key partner in supporting those in custody and their families. We will continue to promote the voice of the sector and show the value of its expertise, enabling prisons to link to local organisations and helping them to engage effectively.
A new blog outlines our work which includes:
- a pilot project with three prisons in the South West to co-ordinate and engage the voluntary sector
- a policy focus on the Dame Sally Coates review of prison education
- an offer to support the six reform prisons to build stronger, more effective partnerships with the voluntary sector organisations in their areas
- a guide to support prisons with practical advice on how to better engage with the sector.
