CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM: employing people with convictions
The Justice Secretary David Gauke is encouraging businesses to unlock opportunity by offering training and employment to prisoners and people with convictions. Working with this group gives businesses the chance to tap into a new pool of talented and highly motivated individuals. Over 300 businesses in the UK, such as Keltbray and Virgin Trains, are already employing serving prisoners and people with convictions to produce products or deliver a service. They report them to be loyal employees because they value their job as their second chance, which can result in fewer sick days, lower turnover rates and increased staff retention. Find out more here
