CLINKS BLOG: Female Offender Strategy
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has published its Female Offender Strategy, which sets out the government’s commitment to a new programme of work for women in contact with the criminal justice system across England and Wales. Anne Fox, Clinks’ Chief Executive Officer said "We warmly welcome the aspirational nature of the strategy and much of its specific commitments... We are, however, concerned that the financial package announced today falls way short of what will be needed to enable voluntary sector services to affect real lasting change for these women and that lack of detail on timings and responsibility will make it hard to track progress and ensure the department can be held to account”. Clinks Senior Policy Officer Nicola Drinkwater has written a blog to give an overview and summary of the strategy. Read the blog here and read the strategy here
