CLINKS RESPONSE: supported housing
Clinks has submitted a response to the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) select committees' inquiry into the government’s funding reform for supported housing. Our main recommendation is for the development of a national accommodation strategy, which should include shared outcomes measures, developed in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, DCLG and DWP. CLINKS RESPONSE: adult male prisons
Clinks has published a response to Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Prisons (HMIP)’s consultation on its Expectations for adult male prisons. HMIP reviewed its Expectations in 2016 to ensure that they continued to improve outcomes for men in prison. The Expectations were published for public consultation in January 2017. In order to ensure the active involvement of voluntary organisations in this process Clinks worked with HMIP to hold three consultation events in London, Manchester and Cardiff. We also invited voluntary organisations to share their own written responses with us. Clinks' response to the consultation collates and summarises all the feedback that we received. CLINKS BLOG: resources for reform prisons
In this guest blog Pamela Dow of the New Futures Network (NFN) discusses what the NFN is, how it aims to be a practical resource for people working in and around prisons, and how it aims to provide the tools and answers to the 'Why', the 'What' and the 'How' of reform. The blog discusses what the strategic relationship with volunteers and charities could look like in a reform prison. Pamela writes: "The question for all of us is this: what can we do to help people understand what reform means and requires, and make the transition?" Read the blog here
