CLINKS SURVEY: we need to hear your story
Our state of the sector survey is your chance to tell your story and help us to influence decision makers. The survey is vitally important as it helps Clinks evidence the challenges you and your beneficiaries are experiencing and share your successes, so we can advocate on your behalf. Please take 25 minutes to provide information about your organisation's criminal justice work, staffing, volunteers, beneficiaries and your experiences of partnership working. This year we're not asking you to provide any detailed financial information. The deadline for responses is 16th December. Complete the survey here
CLINKS EVENT: stay informed on criminal justice policy
Clinks is launching regional policy forums in the North East, North West and South West [24th November, Durham, free | 29th November, Exeter, free | December 8th, Liverpool, free]. These forums will help local organisations stay informed and up to date with new developments in criminal justice policy and give you the opportunity to inform Clinks’ national policy work. The first forum will focus on prisons and influencing local strategic partnerships as well as including an overview of national policy developments from the Clinks policy team. The first meetings are free for all to attend, and the location will be rotated around the forum's local area for future meetings. Book your place here
CLINKS EVENT: substance misuse in prison
What should substance misuse services in prisons be like? Clinks is holding two consultation events [8th December, London, free | 13th January, location TBC, free] in partnership with NHS England to help them review the service specification for substance misuse services in prisons. Open to current and former service users, families, and voluntary sector representatives, these events will provide an opportunity to feed back on the current specification, what is working well, and what more needs to be done. Find out more and register here
CLINKS BLOG: police and service providers working together
In this guest blog Helen Worthington, Chief Executive of the Safer Stronger Consortium, goes through the ins and outs of managing a contract delivered jointly by a consortium of partners. Helen says, "I am fortunate to witness first-hand the breadth of specialist work that is carried out by our partner organisations, as well as those across the wider network, in helping people at their most vulnerable to overcome difficulties in their lives...this unique collaboration between the police and service providers has since evolved to support thousands of victims of crime". CLINKS PARTNER'S BLOG: homelessness and multiple needs
In this blog Making Every Adult Matter (MEAM) coalition director Oliver Hilbery explores why many of the issues around homelessness first raised in Ken Loach’s film Cathy Come Home are still with us today. Oliver participated in a House of Commons event to mark the 50th anniversary of the film, speaking alongside the director and Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron MP. This blog is based on his contribution to the debate and what MEAM has learned about what needs to change in the future. Read more here
