Upcoming events and training
Prepare for changes to the rules on trustees and senior managers
16th April, Birmingham | 17th April, Plymouth | from £15
From 1st August 2018, changes to the ‘automatic disqualification’ rules in the Charities Act mean that there will be additional restrictions on who can run a charity. Act now to update your recruitment process and understand how to support anyone in your organisation who will be affected. This half day workshop will provide you with all the information you need to do this. Click here to book Birmingham or click here to book Plymouth
Working and volunteering in prison training
This highly participative one-day course will increase understanding of the prison environment and how to operate within it. It will enable voluntary sector staff and volunteers to have efficient, meaningful, and professional engagement within prisons. The training will be run in the North West, North East, South West and South East.
“I wish I could’ve had this training two or three years ago! Very helpful, accessible, and responsive. I felt confident about the trainer\s level of understanding of the field and enjoyed the opportunity to share some stories and feel myself part of a group with similar concerns.” – Cardiff participant

Introduction to desistance
Clinks is designing a half day introductory workshop around desistance theory. Desistance theory emphasises the need for a holistic, flexible and person-centred approach to supporting people who have offended; a style of working that resonates powerfully with voluntary organisations. Understanding the process of desistance is not just about a theoretical model but allows you to have the ability to practically inform and communicate about your work.
