Clinks delivered over 50 events over the past year with around 1200 delegates, spanning the country from Plymouth to Newcastle. We use our events to highlight key sector issues, share good practice, and learning and expertise with our members, who share with us their experiences and views. We use this information to make evidence-based recommendations for change to government and policy makers. If you have any thoughts on what type of events you want to see let us know by emailing events@clinks.org
Regional criminal justice forums – we listened to you
Our nine regional criminal justice forums explored the views and experiences of front line staff at local voluntary organisations to inform our policy work. This year we’ve discussed the state of the sector, the relationship voluntary organisations have with Police and Crime Commissioners and Transforming Rehabilitation. Over 2018, these will run quarterly with the next round the week of 5th March.
“Good to be around the table with like-minded, enthusiastic people/services” - Plymouth participant
HMIP consultations – your evidence influenced our responses
We listened to over 500 voices who gave research, evidence and feedback to ministers at HM Inspectorate of Prisons and HM Inspectorate of Probation. The consultation events discussed the future of prison and probation inspections, the future funding for services working in supported housing and service users with black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds. Responses to the consultations can be found here
Service user involvement managers network – we shared your good practice
Our service user involvement managers network meetings have included sessions on creating a culture of service user involvement, involving service users in governance, and training on payment, rewards and benefits. Next year's events include sessions on involving young people, and equality and diversity.
Women’s networking forums – your views direct our work
With the merger of Women’s Breakout into Clinks this year, our focus of women’s specialist services has become more significant. We ran visioning events for women’s organisations and the CEOs of Women’s Breakout's members to ask how we should continue their amazing work. The Women’s Networking Forums feed directly into the Reducing Reoffending Third Sector Advisory Group and the Advisory Board for Female Offenders. In 2018 the forums will will run quarterly in London, York, Bristol and Liverpool starting in February.
“Very good opportunity for information and support, thank you!” - London participant
Thank you to everyone who attended and fed into the rich and informative discussions.
Keep up to date with events
