A round up of this year's events and what's on in 2019
Clinks delivered over 50 events in 2018 with around 1600 delegates attending. We held 60% of our events outside of London, spanning the country from Plymouth to Newcastle. Next year, we’re working on organising our biggest events outside of London - holding the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance conference in Birmingham and our Annual General Meeting in York.
Engage with the review of probation services
Following on from the Ministry of Justice’s public consultation on the future of probation services, we are hosting three events specifically for the voluntary sector to support the Ministry of Justice’s market engagement ahead of the anticipated competition launch in April 2019. Full details will follow shortly. Register your interest here
Regional criminal justice forums
This year we ran nine regional criminal justice forums for you to keep up to date with the latest developments in the criminal justice system. We discussed, amongst many topics, opportunities and challenges facing voluntary sector organisations, coordination and collaboration for people facing multiple disadvantage, and using community sentencing as an alternative to custody. Next year we’re holding forums in Yorkshire and Wales, with the next round of events planned for the end of February. Book your place here
Women’s networking forums
The women’s networking forums are flourishing with three well-attended events discussing services specifically designed for women. We welcomed Cullagh Warnock who shared insights about the funding landscape for work with women, and discussed how to build a network of quality provision in the light of the Female Offender Strategy. The next event is in March in Manchester. Book your place here
We use our events to highlight key voluntary sector issues, share good practice, and learning and expertise with our members, who share with us their experiences and views. We use this information to make evidence-based recommendations for change to government and policy makers. If you have any thoughts on what type of events you want to see let us know by emailing events@clinks.org.
