"Without a constant eye on reform and how to bring it about, the sector is merely endlessly engaged in first aid - applying plasters to bleeding social wounds and system failure." - Former Clinks Director Clive Martin
In the midst of significant reforms, our upcoming conference is an opportunity for us to join forces to think through what our Criminal Justice System needs going forward, and how we will achieve that.
What is just and affordable rehabilitation, and what does good look like?
Explore the answers to this question with colleagues from across the Criminal Justice System and beyond, and hear from prisons minister Andrew Selous, Clinks Chair and Chair of the Independent Police Complaints Commission Dame Anne Owers, Clinks former Director Clive Martin, and our newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Anne Fox.
We will...
- Discuss the potential solutions, and highlight effective practice, to improving the lives of people affected by crime,
- Shine a light on how the voluntary sector can contribute,
- Provide you with opportunities to network with fellow practitioners, experts in the field, and policy-makers.
A thought-provoking panel discussion featuring the National Probation Service, Community Rehabilitation Company owners, the prison service, and former service users, will give you a new perspective on what just and affordable rehabilitation might look like; and sector experts will lead workshops around hot topics such as Transforming Rehabilitation, volunteering, young adults, police and crime commissioners, multiple and complex needs, health and social care, and women's services.
