Effective resettlement and rehabilitation for people in the Criminal Justice System, and their families, is central to an approach that is ‘just’. However, the Ministry of Justice is facing budget cuts of 25% to 40%, which makes us ask the question, what is affordable?
Clinks’ national conference will explore some of the solutions to improving the lives of people affected by crime, and shine a light on how the voluntary sector can contribute by:
- putting service user voice at the centre of the debate
- delivering distinct approaches to tackle inequality and over-representation
- working towards better collaboration across sectors
- tackling health inequalities
- and thinking about devolution to local areas
This conference will discuss the potential solutions, highlight effective practice, and provide an opportunity for you to meet and network with fellow practitioners, experts in the field, and policy-makers.
A choice of workshops, led by experts in their field, will focus on Personalisation, Social Care and the Care Act, Transforming Rehabilitation, Volunteering, Young adults, Multiple and complex needs, Police and crime commissioners, and Women's services.
Speaking at the event will be Dame Anne Owers, Clive Martin, Anne Fox and Andrew Selous; and experts will take part in a panel discussion on what good rehabilitation looks like.
