Joined up Justice
[Tuesday 1st July, central London, from £50]
How does the voluntary sector join up our justice system and transform resettlement and rehabilitation?
This event, chaired by Baroness Lola Young of Hornsey (cross bench member of the House of Lords), will provide an opportunity to discuss the voluntary sector's role in delivering to diverse client groups, supporting communities, and providing flexible and quality services. It will consider the relationships with new probation providers, changes to our prison system, and the cross-over between other departments. Through presentations, workshops and a panel debate, we will explore:
- What are the key issues for the voluntary sector working in criminal justice?
- How can we make rehabilitation real in the face of drastic cuts and controversial policy?
- What does the Government’s Transforming Rehabilitation agenda mean for the sector; for those engaged, and those outside it?
- What are the current opportunities for the sector, and how do we realise and build on these?
Soon to be announced speakers will include senior Government representatives, charitable funders, and voluntary sector leaders.
