Call for evidence: Good practice working with women

A priority for Wales has been the development and implementation of good practice to working with women in the Criminal Justice System (CJS). There is now an opportunity for Wales to accelerate the reform and transformation of services for women in the CJS through development and implementation of a Blueprint that will focus on delivering services in a way that reflects the delivery landscape in Wales. A dedicated project team has been identified to take this work forward on behalf of the IOM Cymru partnership in Wales and one of their first priorities will be to review the existing evidence base for working with Welsh women in the justice system.

The team is gathering research about good practice working with women and evidence about what services are particularly effective with meeting women's needs. The work will focus on services for Welsh women but they would also welcome any key national data/research on women in the justice system.

If you have any research and/or case studies could you please send this to Jade Theaker at jade.theaker@probation.gsi.gov.uk by the 1st June. The information will be used to inform a briefing paper due to be submitted on 4th June.
