ANNE PEAKER LECTURE 2018: INJUSTICE DOCUMENTARY
Tuesday 27 March 2018, 5.30pm - 8.30pm
Canterbury Christ Church University
£10 administration fee
“What a brilliant film, I was very moved and felt a lot of anger, frustration hurt, sadness. It is without doubt the best film I’ve seen around prison. It’s so so real, honest piece of film making.”
Tom King, former prison counsellor
Our annual Anne Peaker lecture this year asks: what can be learnt when prisoners have agency over their story? And how can the arts and criminal justice sector facilitate this?
The event will include an excerpt screening of Injustice, the acclaimed documentary made by a former prisoner that explores our criminal justice system. The screening will be followed by a panel debate featuring the director and leading specialist arts organisations that co-produce work with prisoners, former prisoners, and mainstream arts organisations.
There will be a chance to network and meet members of the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance Steering Group before the lecture from 5.30pm - 6.30pm, with refreshments provided.
