We are hiring two positions, one based in our London team and one based in our West Midlands team.
About the organisation:
Beating Time is our overall brand. The Charity runs a project called Inside Job. This is an Employment Consultancy with a difference; you will be working for an award-winning idea that helps people that have served a prison sentence to re-enter the workplace.
by:
1. Training serving prisoners as Recruitment Consultants, who then provide a candidate pipeline and work closely alongside the organisation.
2. Take employers into prison to interview Candidates. Some Job offers are made there and then.
3. Case work with candidates in the community. Aiming to remove their barriers and support them into work.
About the role:
As a Community Employment Consultant, you will support the senior team and work alongside the prison peer led team, helping recruiters in custody to identify and support candidates.
Key responsibilities include:
· Build strong relationships with the relevant prison staff.
· Support the Head of Inside Job to engage employers and plan monthly interview days.
· Build relationships with local and national employers and to promote the service.
· Support the team to develop a strategy to identify and target local and national employers.
· Building relationships with local Probation offices and staff, DWP/Local Authority initiatives and Police & Crime Commissioner/Violence Reduction Unit and any other official and/or relevant third sector/voluntary organisations
· Keep up to date records monitoring the effectiveness of the programme. We have built an inhouse portal which is like a CRM system.
· Case Management with released prison leavers in the community.
About you:
To be successful in the role, you will need the following skills and experience:
· Be able and willing to work in Prisons and YOIs, this includes a vetting process which you will need to pass to be successful in the role.
· An empathetic and understanding approach when working with candidates.
· A good understanding of the barriers faced by people with convictions in accessing employment.
· An interest in employment, The Local Labour Market and Industry trends.
· Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, including the ability to motivate and inspire others.
· Strong administration skills with IT (MS Office) and well organised.
· You will have strong writing skills and will be able to write good CV’s and Disclosure Letters.
Although not essential, experience of Recruitment or Case Management would be desirable.

Step Two: An informal Q&A. Before putting more time into applying for the role, we’d love to give you the chance to ask more questions. This will be 15 minutes with one of the team. We will aim to give you an option for this, if you are successful, asap after you apply.
Step Three: Formal interview. This is possible online or in person. We will set you a short task prior to the interview. Interviews will be scheduled on 29th, 30th and 31st.
Step Four: As a final part of the process, we’ve love to invite you into the office for coffee with the whole team in either London or Birmingham. This will be on Monday 3rd February.
