Project Co-Ordinator
The Project Coordinator will play a key leadership role in the project, requiring vision, creativity, a passion for the cause, and excellent relationship building skills. The successful candidate will be the coordinator for this exciting new project of getting ‘Women back to work’, which is a two-year contract.
Working with the Chief Operations Officer (COO), you will implement, deliver and review this new back to work project for women within the criminal justice system (CJS). You will form and build relationships with local employers and training providers with the aim to open opportunities of work experience, training and/or paid employment for women with criminal records. You will build networks with existing back to work providers and with partner agencies, who will make referrals into the service. You will oversee the work of the delivery officer who will be responsible for supporting a caseload of women with looking for employment and/or upskilling to improve their employment opportunities. This project will complement our existing Through the Gate mentoring service for women.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development, management, and delivery of the new project of supporting ‘women back to work’.
- Drive innovation and excellence supporting a small team with managing and supporting a caseload of female client, who may present with multiple, and complex needs.
- Develop analysis and draw conclusions from project data to report on the performance of the project to the COO and CEO on a regular basis.
- Build effective relationships and partnerships with employers, back to work services and training providers to support the delivery of the project.
- Accountable for engagement and communications across the full spectrum of external marketing and communication, working with our Communications and Partnership Officer.
- Identify and mitigate risks with a specific focus on risk to staff, volunteers and clients.
- Keep up to date on best practice within the charity sector generally and particularly changes in legislation and codes of practice working with women.
- Manage and develop a small staff team and volunteers, when required.
- Work with COO to oversee the accreditation of services when applicable.
- Be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance systems and practice that relates to compliance and best practice.
General duties:
- Adhere to the terms of relevant legislation, especially in respect of Safeguarding vulnerable adults, Equality & Diversity, Employment, Data Protection and Health and Safety, and keep updated of any changes in relevant legislation, policy and practice.
- Work collaboratively across the organisation.
- Use the Sussex Pathways database to securely store all key data in-line with GDPR.
- At all times protect the safety and security of the Sussex Pathways, service users, staff, volunteers and buildings, and the confidentiality of records and other information.
- Work to Sussex Pathways Code of Conduct.
- Undertake other tasks commensurate with the post and work flexibly across the team in line with the project need including communications.
